Flowers in the grass
Listen as Hazrat Isa ( ع ) talks about managing the normal things of life. He said this to his followers in Northern Palestine and it is recorded in the Holy Injeel in Matthew 6:24-34.
“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.
“Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
“Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
“And why do you worry about clothes?
“See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
“If that is how Allah clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?
“So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Hazrat Isa ( ع ) teaches us how to live on the Straight Path
Both the Holy Qur’an and the Blessed Injeel agree that Hazrat Isa ( ع ) has many wise words and commands to help us as we live on the Straight Path. So, when life is comfortable and we are able to live a good life, his words are very important.
وَإِنَّهُ لَعِلْمٌ لِلسَّاعَةِ فَلاَ تَمْتَرُنَّ بِهَا وَاتَّبِعُونِ هَذَا صِرَاطٌ مُسْتَقِيمٌ وَلاَ يَصُدَّنَّكُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ إِنَّهُ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُبِينٌ وَلَمَّا جَاءَ عِيسَى بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ قَالَ قَدْ جِئْتُكُمْ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَلأُبَيِّنَ لَكُمْ بَعْضَ الَّذِي تَخْتَلِفُونَ فِيهِ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُوهُ هَذَا صِرَاطٌ مُسْتَقِيمٌ
He is knowledge of the hour, so do not doubt it, and follow me. This is a straight path. Do not let Satan block you. He is a clear enemy to you. When Isa brought miracles, he said, “I have come to you with wisdom, and to clarify to you your differences, so fear Allah and obey me. Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship him. This is a straight path.
Holy Qur’an | Al-Zukhruf 43:61-64
λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς, Ἐγώ εἰμι ἡ ὁδὸς καὶ ἡ ἀλήθεια καὶ ἡ ζωή·
Jesus replied, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Blessed Injeel | John 14:6
In these verses, the Holy Qur’an gives several necessary things we must do in order to be on the Straight Path:
- follow Allah
- fear Allah
- obey Hazrat Isa
- worship Allah.
Other prophets in the Qur’an tell people to obey them, but Hazrat Isa ( ع ) says people should obey him when talking about the Straight Path.
So does the Blessed Injeel.
