On this website we are using the same blessed Injeel that the Holy Qur’an tells people to use. It is also the one Muhammad ( ص ) knew.
Some people might think this is impossible! Let us find out what the Holy Qur’an says.
Holy Qu’ran is very positive
In the Holy Qur’an we find that the Tawrat, the Zabur and the Blessed Injeel are affirmed in many hundreds of ayat.
There are Muslims who have been told that these positive ayat are only about the ayat in original revealed books. And that by the time of Muhammad ( ص ) those three earlier books had been changed.
This could be confusing.
Holy Qu’ran makes this clear
Thankfully, the Holy Qur’an can guide us. Here are two ayat.
So let the people of the Injil judge by what Allah has revealed in it. Whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed are unbelievers.
Holy Qur’an | Al Maida 5:47
This ayah affirms that the Blessed Injeel as it existed at that time was valid for the followers of the Blessed Injeel to judge by. It warns those who do not judge by it that they are unbelievers.
When you are in doubt about what we have revealed to you, ask those who are reading the Book before you.
Holy Qur’an | Yunis 10:94
This helpful ayah tell us that when Muhammad ( ص ) had certain doubts he was to ask people who were reading the previous book at that time. The earlier book was to be the reference. Would God have commanded this if the earlier book the people had was not accurate in the day of Muhammad ( ص )?
So, three things are clear from these two ayat:
- The earlier book existed in the days of Muhammad ( ص )
- People were reading that book at that time
- All the words were true at that time
A book CAN be corrupted, of course
And some evil people speaking in the days of Muhammad ( ص ) were changing and distorting the meaning of the Blessed Injeel when they spoke. Not the text, but the meaning of the text.
We know this from the Holy Qur’an.
Among them is a group of those who distort the Book with their tongues, so that you would think that it is from the Book, when it is not from the Book. They say, it is from God, when it is not from God, and they knowingly tell lies about God.
Holy Qur’an | Al Imran 3:78
The ayah tells us they were changing and distorting the meaning of the words of the Blessed Injeel in their evil speeches and public teaching.
But they were not changing the words of the Blessed Injeel.
Those words (God’s blessed text) had been kept safe in hand-written copied documents for all of the approximately 500 years before Muhammad ( ص ).
What the Holy Qu’ran says about changes
Actually, would it have been possible for anyone change the text and words of the Blessed Injeel?
The Holy Qur’an answers this question for us.
Messengers before you were rejected, and they were patient with the rejection and were harmed, until our salvation came. There is no altering of God’s words, and news of the messengers has come to you.
Holy Quran | Al Anaam 6:34
In this ayah the Holy Qur’an reveals the Blessed Injeel had been faithfully passed on year after year up to and including the time of Muhammad ( ص ). The text had not been changed.
Here’s another ayah, showing that Allah is guarding His sayings.
The wicked substituted a different saying for what they had been told, and we sent a plague upon them from heaven for their wickedness.
Holy Quran | Al Baqarah 2:59
Today
In the years after Muhammad ( ص ) science and research shows it was kept and copied accurately for the next 1400 years until today. Just as the Holy Qur’an has been faithfully kept and copied.
